"time is flying in your company"

The shape of the sculpture is based on the ceiling of the Bürgermeister-Smidt church in the centre of Bremerhaven. The original ceiling is transformed to an independent free-standing sculpture by extracting a part of the original. The parts of the sculpture are sawed from plywoods and are screwed double wall on a batten base construction Therefore, the view on the inside environment is only possible from the sides. The handcrafted production process and the heavyweight material do not become apparent because of the easiness of the shape which immitates a folding and only contacts the ground at the edges. With a size of 4x6 meters the sculpture took the space of three parking lots during the four month exhibition period.
